Kia ora, I’m Alecia, co-founder of Twistd Wick alongside my partner Lochlan. Together, we create deliciously scented soy wax melts and candles right here in Christchurch, New Zealand. Our mission is simple: to help you celebrate every win—big or small—with a little sweet treat. Because sometimes, the smallest moments are the most worth celebrating.

My journey hasn’t always been easy. I come from humble beginnings and spent a lot of time feeling like I was failing, always too hard on myself when things didn’t go as planned. It wasn’t until I realized that every step forward, no matter how small, was a win that I started to truly celebrate myself. Finished an assignment? Treat. Got a job interview? Treat. Finished the housework? You guessed it—treat.

At Twistd Wick, we believe that life’s not about being perfect; it’s about honoring your journey, embracing your wins, and being kind to yourself along the way.

Every one of our wax melts is designed in-house and made with love. We handcraft each product with custom natural fragrance blends, unique designs, and special labels, ensuring it’s as memorable as the moments you’re creating. We use 100% soy wax, a clean-burning, eco-friendly option that burns longer and releases fragrance slowly and evenly. Soy wax is also biodegradable and creates less soot, making it a healthier choice for your home.

Growing up, I never saw anyone who looked like me running a business. Now, I want to change that. I want to inspire women and girls everywhere to see what’s possible when they follow their hearts.

Supporting Miscarriage Matters NZ: A Cause Close to Our Hearts

At Twistd Wicks, we are proud to support Miscarriage Matters NZ, an organisation that helps women and families who are going through the pain of miscarriage. They provide care packages filled with thoughtful items to offer comfort and support during a difficult time.

What They Do
Miscarriage Matters NZ delivers over 130 care packages each month to women in Canterbury, the West Coast, North Shore (Auckland), South Auckland, and Wellington. These packages are a simple way to show women they are not alone and that they are cared for.

Purpose of the Care Packages
The care packages include comforting items to help nourish and support women as they heal. Each one is filled with things like food or drink, a wellness item, a plant, a keepsake, and a handwritten card—all packed with care in a handmade calico bag.

Why We Support This Cause
Our connection to Miscarriage Matters NZ is personal. Like many others, we’ve experienced the loss of a baby, and it’s one of the reasons we’re so passionate about supporting this organisation.

To help, we created Hope’s Dream Butterfly Wax Melts in memory of our own loss. For every pack sold, $1 is donated to Miscarriage Matters NZ to help fund their care packages and support services.
